Bo-Katan Kryze is a supporting antagonist in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and a supporting character in Star Wars Rebels and the tritagonist of the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. She is the sister of Satine Kryze, who once ruled as the Duchess of Mandalore, and once served Death Watch during the Clone Wars until the day when the Sith Lord Darth Maul killed her leader Pre Vizsla. Now she serves as Mandalore's sole leader and carries on her sister's legacy.
Background[]
Bo-Katan Kryze was born on the planet Mandalore at least twenty years before the Clone Wars. She was the younger sister of Satine Kryze, the duchess of Mandalore and the New Mandalorians. The sisters had at least one sibling, who parented the sisters' nephew Korkie. She worked as a lieutenant for the Death Watch leader Pre Vizsla during the Clone Wars. After Dooku broke off ties with Death Watch, Bo-Katan came to distrust Sith.

The Clone Wars[]
During one of her adventures, Bo-Katan once encountered the Jedi Ahsoka Tano when she was forcibly brought to the planet by Lux Bonteri, who wished to join the group to exact vengeance on Count Dooku. Bo-Katan attempted to kill them with the rest of the Mandalorians until Ahsoka and Lux were able to escape with R2-D2 and several droids the Death Watch abused.
By 19 BBY, Bo-Katan was still involved with Death Watch, where she and Vizsla encountered Darth Maul and Savage Opress, who they took back to their base and Vizsla saw them as potential allies against the New Mandalorians and the Jedi. However, Bo-Katan distrusted the Sith and voiced her opinion of Maul and Sith Lords no different than Jedi. Infuiriated, Maul began choking her with the Force but enough to weaken her before releasing his grip on her. She later helped create the Shadow Collective while begrudgingly going along with the alliance with Maul and Savage. However, Vizsla revealed to Bo-Katan that she must go along with Maul's plan and that he planned on betraying them when their usefulness was over.
She later helped Vizsla take over Mandalore and undermine her sister while eventually imprisoning Opress and Maul. However, their victory was short-lived, as Maul and Savage had finally emerged from their prison with Almec as their prisoner, where the Sith Lrod declared himself a challenger for the throne of Mandalore. Bo witnessed a duel between the two leaders and watched in horror as Vizsla was beheaded by Maul, who declared him the true ruler of Mandalore. However, Bo and her fellow Nite Owls refused to acknowledge a Non-Mandalorian as thier ruler, causing Death Watch members to turn against the Nite Owls. However, Bo and her people escaped. Banding with her nephew, Korkie, she and those now loyal to Satine freed her. However, their escape was foiled when Maul's mandalorian forces caused Bo-Katan and her Nite Owls to flee and resulted in Satine's capture.
Obi-Wan later came to save Satine, but in the end, she was murdered by maul to make Obi-Wan suffer as he had suffered. Bo-Katan, having been contacted by her sister prior to her death, rescued Obi-Wan and got him on a Mandalorian ship. She told him to return to the Republic and inform them what has happened there. Though Bo-Katan was aware that it would lead to a republic invasion on Mandalore, she acknowledged that her planet would survive. ObiWan recognized Bo-Katan as Satine's sister and offered her his condolences. Bo-Katan briefly faltered, mourning her sister's loss before fighting off Mandalorians to escape.
Later, on a mission to Oba Diah, Bo-Katan and the Mandalorians with her (including Ursa Wren). Bo-Katan and her followers noticed Ahsoka Tano. Bo-Katan recognized the girl as the Jedi she encountered on Carlac and told her scouts to keep an eye on Ahsoka, thinking she proved to be a worthy ally in fighting Darth Maul. After Ahsok and the Martez sisters escaped, Bo-Katan approached Ahsoka on Coruscant, where she asked for Ahsoka's help in her fight against Maul. The young woman accepted and joined Bo-Katan to Mandalore.

Satine Kryze[]
Bo-Katan Kryze and her sister have a complicated relationship in "The Clone Wars." Satine is a peaceful leader of Mandalore, wanting to avoid war and promote diplomacy. She believes in finding peaceful solutions, while Bo-Katan feels strongly about fighting and protecting their home. This difference in beliefs often creates tension between them. As such, Bo-Katan joined Death Watch. However despite their concerns, Bo and Satine loved each other deeply. When Maul murdered her sister in front of Obi-Wan, Bo-Katan was enraged in full of vengeance, making her wish to see an end to Darth Maul once and for all. As such she began to revolt against him when he took over mandalor and ruled over her people with an iron fist.
When meeting with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker with Ahsoka Tano, Bo-Katan didn't understand why Obi-Wan was being calm about Maul being an active threat, as he killed her sister and the woman she loved. Even years after her death, Bo-Katan sought to honor her sister's life, by becoming the true ruler of Mandalore. She was also angry with Sabine using a weapon that could turn their own armor against him. She was also annoyed that Sabine named the device 'The Duchess' after her sister.
Ahsoka Tano[]
Ahsoka first met Bo-Katan Kryze on the planet Carlac when Lux bright her to the planet against her will. However, the young woman was dismissive of Ahsoka, calling her "too skinny" to be Lux's fiancé and later tried to kill the young Jedi. It wasn't until two years later when Bo-Katan met Ahsoka again on Coruscant. By then, the Togruta woman was no longer a member of the Jedi Order. Ahsoka easily recognized her but was immediately on high alert, never forgetting their encounter. However, this time Bo-Katan was on more friendlier terms with her and appeared Ahsoka, revealing that Death Watch was no more and desperately was asking for her help because they had a common enemy in Maul. Ahsoka decided to help Bo-Katan fight the rogue Sith Lord after helping to sisters Rafa and Trace.
During the Siege of Mandalore, Bo and Ahsoka worked together to break Maul's control over Mandalore, first by going to Anakin and Obi-Wan for assistance. Because it was Ahsoka’s plan and Bo going along with it showed that by now, they could cooperate with each other. When Ahsoka went in the Undercity and Bo captured Prime Minister Almec, he revealed Maul hoped to lure the Jedi to Mandalore but Bo has brought the wrong one, she attempted to warn her former Jedi comrade in an urgent and warning tone and was later reluctant to leave Ahsoka with Maul in the throne, showing that Bo had done to have some level of care for Ahsoka.
During the Siege of Mandalore, Ahsoka and Bo-Katan formed a friendship and Ahsoka noticed that despite Bo-Katan being the opposite of her sister, Satine, she is worthy of leading the people of Mandalore. After Ahsoka captured Maul, she and Bo-Katan discussed on their success and Ahsoka reveals she views Bo-Katan as one of the people who taught how to succeed. Bo-Katan then reveals she wishes she knew how to do something other wage war as she did not understand her sister's idealism. Before Ahsoka left with the captured Maul, she and Bo-Katan parted on good terms, with Tano trusting in Kryze's ability to rule Mandalore.
In the Mandalorian, it turns out that nine years since the end of the war that Bo still has contact with Ashoka as Bo sent Din Djarin to Ahsoka Tano after he was searching for a Jedi to take care of Grogu.
Even years after the fall of the Republic, Bo-Katan still respected Ahsoka, and still upheld a high opinion of the Jedi. She is sorry to still be in contact with Ahsoka, as Bo directs Djarin to her for Grogu.
Sabine Wren[]
After seeing the young woman's display of bravery loyalty and heroism, Bo saw Sabine as pure example of what Amanda lorian should be.
Din Djarin[]

Initially thinking the children of the Watch as Zealots, Bo katan became very respectful for Djarin after witnessing his care for Grogu. After he told her of his quest to find Jedi for him, Bo-Katan told Din to seek out her old friend Ahsoka Tano. During Season 3 of The Mandalorian, Bo-Katan came to see Djarin as a valuable ally and friend. Much like Sabine Wren, Din Djarin saw that Bo was the true ruler of Mandalore and, like Sabine before him, offered her the Darksaber. However, Bo was duty bound to not take the Darksaber because Din Djarin won it in a duel with Gideon.
As friends and allies, Bo and Djarin respect each other and hint that there may be something more than friendship.
Grogu[]
In Season 2, Bo-Katan helped Din Djarin rescue his son, Grogu from Imperial Moff Gideon. During their time together in Season 3, Bo became very fond of Grogu, becoming a mother figure of sorts to the young Mandalorian foundling. Due to Bo's fondness of children, she allows Grogu to sit on her lap while she gets piloting.
