Blue was a velociraptor who was genetically modified by the scientists who worked on Jurassic World. She was the most cubbing of her sisters, Delta, and Echo and they were exhibits at Jurassic World. They were trained by Owen Grady, a man who had affinity for dinosaurs and was against the idea of using the girls for Vic Hoskin's own purposes. From the video footage that Maisie Lockwood watched, Owen raised the sisters from infancy. He gained a close friendship with the baby Velociraptors, acted as a surrogate and the "Alpha" of the pack. She is also cousins with Bravo, Sierra and Tango,dinosaurs introduced in Universal.

In between the two films, Blue lived out in the woods near Owen, Claire and Maisie's cabin, where the couple settled so they could protect foster daughter from Biosyn and other threats. Blue reproduced asexually and was blessed with a daughter, Beta.
