Jefferson Pierce is a character in the DC comics. He is a world-classic superhero known as Black Lighting, a metahuman who has the ability to control and manipulate lightning. He works alone but has on occasion been a member of The Outsiders and the Justice League.

The character was created by writer Tony Isabella and artist Trevor Von Eeden, and first appeared in Black Lightning #1, during the Bronze Age of Comic Books.
