Billy Hargrove (full name William Hargrove) is one of the secondary antagonists of the Netflix horror drama series Stranger Things.
He is Max Mayfield's step-brother. He was the secondary antagonist of the the second and third season of the Netflix series Stranger Things.

When first introduced, Billy was the sterotypical bad-boy and he quickly became the new king of Hawkins. He was shown to be a rather arrogant, misogynistic and racist bully who had no qualms in tormenting whoever came along his way, with his step-sister Max being his most prominent victim. He also had a tendency for murderous outbursts, as shown when he nearly ran over Mike, Lucas and Dustin during an argument with Max and possibly would have beaten Steve to death had Max not sedated him.
Despite his ruthless exterior, there are some moments where he shows emotion. This was seen when he was apologizing to Max for his actions under the control of the Mind Flayer and successfully resisted the creature's urge to attack Karen Wheeler. Once Eleven entered his mind and began navigating through his memories, Billy used to be a happy and easygoing child with a dream of becoming a surfer and had a close relationship with his mother. However, his father was shown to be physically and emotionally violent with both Billy and his mother, the latter of whom eventually divorced Neil and abandoned Billy, leaving him vulnerable to his father's rough education, which turned him into a vicious bully. Though his mother had abandoned him, Billy desperately missed her and their time together was used by Eleven to reawaken Billy's soft side, enabling him to free himself from the Mind Flayer's control and sacrifice himself to save Eleven, Max and their allies. Before succumbing to his wounds, Billy apologized to Max for making her life miserable.
