William Arthur "Bill" Weasley is one of the supporting characters in the Harry Potter franchise. He is the eldest child and son of Molly and Arthur Weasley, the husband of Fleur Delacour, father of Victoire, Dominique and Louis Weasley and brother of Ron, Ginny, Fred, George, Percy and Charlie Weasley and brother-in-law of Harry Potter, Angelina Johnson, Audrey Weasley, Hermione Granger, and Gabrielle Delacour, paternal uncle of Lucy, Molly, Roxanne, Fred Jr., Rose and Hugo Weasley and maternal uncle of James, Albus and Lily Potter.

During the 1995-96 school year, Bill joined the second incarnation of the Order of the Phoenix. Within the Order, Bill became good friends with Remus Lupin, Alastor Moody and Nymphadora Tonks, and Kingsley Shacklebolt. He later married Fleur Delacour near the very end of the Second Wizarding War. However, he unfortunately lost his brother Fred, leaving Bill devestated at the loss of his little brother.

As a wizard, Bill earned a twelve on his O.W.L.s. in his fifth year. He specialized in Defence Against the Dark Arts, up to the point where he headed an extracurricular evening class for Defence Against the Dark Arts. He was also proficient in arithmancy, a recquired subject fo Curse-Breakers.

In Transfiguration class, Bill could conjur table cloths out of thin air during a  family gathering at the Burrow, using the Vanishing Spell. Conjuration and Vanishment were his specialties.

As a proficient user of Charms, Bill specialized in Levitation, Mending and Defensive Charms, Stunning Spell, FIre-Making Spells and capable of creating a Patronus. His Ordinary Wizardinv Level and interactions with Goblins and nifflers showed Billl had become proficient in the Care of Magical Creatures.. In addition to this, he could tell that Harry was planning on doing something with Griphook, warning his friend/brother-in-law to not betray him.

He also excelled in the History of Magic, Spell Creation, Divinition (study of prophecy), Muggle Studies, Herbology, and Potions. For spell creations he invented a modified curse d barrier to prevent death eaters from entering a vicinity. Despite being a wizard of light magic, Bill performed dark charms such as the Ear shrivelling Curse, Langlock and Sea Urchin Jjinx, as well as the  onjunctivitis Curse.

Weaponry[]

  • Wand: The wand of Bill Weasley was made of Hazel wood, but was of an unknown length and core material. Like most wizards and witches in Great Britain, he purchased it at the age of eleven at Ollivanders before beginning his education at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
  • Prefect badge: Having been made prefect in his fifth year at Hogwarts, Bill owned a Gryffindor prefect badge, which he wore during his formal prefect duties.
  • Head Boy badge: Bill was awarded one of these special badges when he was made Head Boy at Hogwarts, for which he would have worn during his formal duties.
  • Shell Cottage: Bill purchased and became the owner of this beachfront cottage in Tinworth, Cornwall, where he lived with his wife Fleur Delacour, and also used his house as a safe house for the Order of the Phoenix.

Relationships[]

Fleur Delacour[]

They first met during the Third Task of the Triwizard Tournament, where Fleur was a Champion and Bill was there to support Harry Potter. Fleur was attracted to Bill from the start, and their relationship blossomed when they both took jobs at Gringotts Bank. However, most members of Bill's family disapproved of their relationship, especially Molly Weasley, who was trying to push Bill and Nymphadora Tonks together. However, Nymphadora had fallen in love with Remus Lupin, leaving Molly's plan moot. However, the family's opinion of Fleur changed when she proclaimed that she loved Bill for himself and didn't care if he was going ot be permanently scarred as a result.

Eventually, Bill and Fleur would welcome Harry and Hermione into their home, Shell Cottage.

Bill was extremely close with his family, as all of his siblings looked up to him. He was also close friends with Harry Potter and Hermione Granger and became their brother in law when they married Ginny and Ron.
