Benjamin Franklin "Benny" Rodriguez is the deuteragonist of the 1993 film, The Sandlot, the overarching protagonist in the sequel and a supporting character in the threequel. He is the oldest of the group, as well as the best player on the team. He is the best friend of Scotty Smalls. Benny is portrayed by Mike Vitar.At adulthood, Benny became a baseball legend for the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he remains best friends with Scott Smalls to this day, as he is the announcer of the game.
