Belle (Once Upon a Time)

Belle, later known as Belle French, also known as Mrs. Gold and briefly known as Lacey, is a character on ABC's Once Upon a Time. She débuts in the twelfth episode of the first season and is portrayed by starring cast member Emilie de Ravin.

She is the daughter of Maurice abd the second wife of Rumplestiltskin, the mother of Gideon, step-mother of Neal Cassidy, Henry's step-grandmother, Lucy's step-great-grandmother and good friends with Killian Jones, Ruby, Snow White and Emma Swan.

Belle is based on Beauty from the fairy tale "Beauty and the Beast"; and on the character of the same name from the Disney film Beauty and the Beast. She is also an allusion to Ellie Fredricksen from the Disney/Pixar film Up.
