Beast (Dr. Henry Philip "Hank" McCoy) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics and is a founding member of the X-Men. Originally called "The Beast", the character was introduced as a mutant possessing ape-like superhuman physical strength and agility, oversized hands and feet, a genius-level intellect, and otherwise normal appearance and speech.

Beast was created and written by the late Stan Lee and designed by the late Jack Kirby.

X-Men Cinematic Universe[]

Kelsey Grammer portrays Beast in the 2006 film X-Men: The Last Stand. Nicholas Hoult portrays a younger version in th prequel X-Men: First Class. Both Hoult and Grammer appared in the 2014 film X-Men: Days of Future Past. Hoult reappeared in the 2016 film X-Men Apocalypse.
