Bruce Wayne is a major character in the Young Justice animated series. He is a billionaire in philanthropist who is one of the most influential individuals in Gotham City. Unknown to the public, he is secretly the vigilante known as Batman. Batman is the protector of the city, swearing to rid the crime and corruption within Gotham. He is the cousin of Kate Kane, the adoptive father and mentor of Nightwing, Jason Todd, Robin and Cassandra Wu-San. He has also mentored other young heroes, including Barbara Gordon and Stephanie Brown.

Batman is also a founding member of the Justice League and best friends with Superman and Wonder Woman.
