Bruce Wayne is one of the main protagonists of the DC Extended Universe, debuting in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
He is the CEO of Wayne Enterprises and operates as the protector and superhero of Gotham City, Batman. He is a founding member of the Justice League and the mentor of the late Dick Grayson, who was tragically killed by the Joker and Harley Quinn.
Bruce Wayne was born in Gotham to the wealthiest and elite family the Waynes, Martha and Thomas. Whilst attending a viewing of 'The Mark of Zorro' with his parents at the Aragon Theatre and as the family left, a mugger held the family at gun point just outside the theatre on the sidewalk underneath a train bridge and after a scuffle shot Thomas and Martha before fleeing. Trivia
This incarnation of Batman is primarily based off Frank Miller's version of the character, in terms of costume design, aggressive nature and a disregard for his "no-kill" rule caused by the loss of one of his Robins in the hands of the Joker. Director Zack Snyder has gone on record stating that Miller's The Dark Knights Returns is one of his favorite comics, being one of the main inspirations for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
In January 2019, Affleck confirmed he will not reprise his role as Batman for future films in the DCEU. However in 2020, Affleck agreed to return for new scenes as part of the Zack Snyder Justice League cut which will air on HBO in 2021. He has also signed up to appear in the 2022 film The Flash, appearing alongside other Batman actor Michael Keaton.
Affleck played the Marvel superhero Daredevil in the 2003 film of the same name and also in deleted scenes in the spin-off film Elektra.
In the film Batman shows a degree of superhuman strength, which is commonly shown in other Zack Snyder films, especially in his 2009 adaptation of Watchmen and 300, due to his penchant for stylizing fight sequences.
Batman gets his superhuman strength from the Batsuit he made to fight Superman, Clark throws Bruce threw a ceiling and walls, Batman ties his grapple around Superman and swings his around, Batman pulls a sink out of the wall with his hands and hits superman in with it.
Unlike most versions of the character, Ben Affleck's Batman kills, shoots at a flamethrower tank, blows a car up with his Batmobile, smashes a car with another car, stabs a criminal with a knife and brands his victims, making this the first version of the character to do so since the Tim Burton version.
Another different from Ben Affleck's Batman and all the others, he uses guns in a dream about apocalyptic future where Superman takes over the world he kills soldiers working for him, grabs one of Lex Luther's henchmen uses his gun to shoot at the other men in the room.
