Dr. Barbara Lake is a major heroine in the Netflix/DreamWorks' Tales of Arcadia franchise by Guillermo del Toro.
She is the supportive, single, hardworking mother of Jim Lake Jr., the fiancée of Walter Strickler, the ex-wife of Jim Lake Sr, and one of the top doctors at the Arcadia Oaks local hospital and respected by all. Due to being a single mom and hard worker, Jim takes care of Barbara, who feels that it should be the other way due to her job as a parent. However, since they are on their own, have to look out for each other but at the end of the day.
When her son becomes the Troll hunter, Barbara is, at first, unaware of her son's new responsibilities as the new Trollhunter and the fact that his teacher, Walt Strickler was a Changeling. However, after Barbara learned her son's identity as a protector of humanity and good trolls. Even though she loses her memory, Barbara is ultimately becomes supportive of her son's and his friends' double lives as heroes on both times.
