Barbara Kean is Jim Gordon's ex-fiance and Barbara Lee Gordon's mother, and a major character in the TV series Gotham.
She is based on Barbara Kean-Gordon and James Gordon Jr. from Batman comics.
At first she seemed to be Gordon's ally but she turned to villainy under the influence of the villain called The Ogre, intending to take over Gotham since then. However, Barbara's true colors and allegiance are revealed in the fifth season in which she reforms and joins Jim Gordon and Bruce Wayne against The Penguin.
She is a supporting protagonist until she becomes unstable in the first season, a supporting antagonist in the second season, one of the main antagonists of the third season, a character and major antagonist in the fourth season, and then she finally becomes the anti-heroic tritagonist of the fifth season.
