Azazel is a supporting antagonist in the prequel film X-Men: First Class. He was an ancient mutant who could teleport. He was a member of the Hellfire Club before joining the Brotherhood of Mutants.He is allegedly the father of X-Men member Nightcrawler and former lover of Mystique

History

X-Men: First Class

Azazel is a member of William Stryker's Hellfire Club and are a part of his plot to start World War III and make mutants the dominant species. However, after their leader died, Azazel and the Hellfire Club joined Magneto 's Brotherhood of Mutants

X-Men: Days of Future's Past

According to Magneto, the group of mutants led by Azazel were killed and experimented on by Bolivar Trask. An angered Mystique plotted to kill Trask, which led the latter into creating the Sentinels.
