Avizandum (Known to the Humans as Thunder) is a minor Protagonist of The Dragon Prince.
He was the mate of Queen Zubeia, the father of Prince Azymondias and the arch-enemy of King Harrow. In the past, Avizandum killed Callum and Ezran's mother and was later killed by Viren and King Harrow in retribution for Sarai's death. His egg was stolen by Viren, who kept it for more power.
Biography[]
Avizandum was born centuries ago; the humans didn't know Avizandum's real name, so they called him "Thunder" for the way he spoke. Many years ago, Avizandum and the other arch-dragons imprisoned Aaravos in a special prison once his treachery was exposed by a human girl, the Orphan Queen.
After Aaravos' defeat, Avizandum kept a looking-glass in his cave so he could keep an eye on the fallen Startouch elf.
He killed Sarai, Queen of Katolis, and her two companions, Queens Annika and Neha when they attempted to cross the borders with the heart of the lava titan. This left three children, Callum, Ezran and Aanya motherless. Avizandum was later killed by Sarai's vengeful husband, King Harrow, with her spear that Viren had embued with dark magic. The king was petrified on the day of his son, Azymondias' hatching and unfortunately, Viren took the egg for himself, keeping it locked away in his private studies. He also took Aaravos' looking glass.
Legacy[]
Outraged and heartbroken, Zubeia swore revenge and sent assassins to kill Ezran and Harrow. However, Ezran, Rayla and Callum returned baby Zym to his mother and brought peace between the humans, dragons and elves.
