Lloyd Garmadon

Lloyd was Arin's idol, mentor and close friends and on occasion, older brother/ paternal figure.

In Season 3b, Lloyd and his friends visit Egalt before he passes. Egalt asks where Arin is but Lloyd and the other sorrowfully tell Egalt that Sora and Arin left with Ras. However, sensing his student's distress, Egalt tells Lloyd to not give up on Sora and Arin, for the latter has the potential to be one of the greatest Ninja of all time. Lloyd And Nya approach the amnesiac Jay ,who is playing video games and supposedly still “recovering” from his broken leg. However,  a very protective Lloyd tells Jay that he needs to help him find Jenny and Barry so he could get Arin and Sora away from Ras, mainly because Lloyd blames himself for Arin and Sora’s leaving, and because he wishes to protect them.  To make sure he can amend his mistakes with Arin, Lloyd agrees that he and the Ninja will help Jay with capturing Ras for his bounty on Zeatrix.

The two reunited in the Land of Lee, fighting off Spectral Dragonians that are stealing people's souls. The two simultaneously apologized to each other. Lloyd confessed to Arin that he was confused about his uncle's role in causing the Merge but has come to accept that his uncle was involved somehow. He believed it was time for him to accept his uncle's death but Arin told Lloyd that Morro informed him that Wu could still be alive. During the Battle in the Spectral Lands, Arin decided to remain with the Ninja, which he revealed to Lloyd when he said he couldn't force Arin to be a ninja. This caused the two to reconcile; however they were both banished to one of the three realms far beyond Ninjago and the two found that they couldn't get back through the portals because Ras captured Wu's soul .

Frak

Before the Merge, Arin and Frak were best friends who both admired the Ninja and enjoyed cooking pies together. They were close to the point of being brothers much like Lloyd Garmadon and Kai's relationship. However before the Merge, Frak and his family moved away. when the merge happened, Arin found his neighborhood was gone as well as his parents and everyone he ever loved was gone. The two would spend years thinking the latter were gone. However, Frak and Arin were reunited at the City of Temples, during the Tournament of sources, where the two are on opposite sides. During Frak's fight with Sora, Arin warned Frak not to wear the Wolf Mask because the wearer's goodness will be shattered and Frak listened to his friend's warning. However Ras abandoned Frak, leaving the former to realize what a bad mentor Ras was. At the end of Season 2, Frak became a new student of the Ninja while Arin, after learning that Wu caused the merge, joined Ras, believing the tiger Lord was the only one who could reunite him with his parents. Both Frak and Sora started missing Arin. During the quest to stop Thunderfang from being released, Frak apologized to Arin, blaming himself for that happened in the Tournament of Sources. However Frak also told Arin how much Lloyd and the Nina taught him. Like the rest of the Ninja, Frak was sad to see his two best friends join Ras in undoing the Merge.

Alfonzo Frohicky

Alfonzo was one of the inhabitants of the Crossroads who befriended Arin and Sora. The three had a positive relationships with one another, with Arin and Sora often bribing Mr. Frohicky with Arin's famous Never-Berry pies to get into the mech races and the Crossroad carnival bake-off.

in"The Temple of the Dragon Cores," Arin and Sora suggested that Lloyd should hire Mr. Frohicky as an assistant Monastery keeper after seeing how stressed out Lloyd was taking care of his monastery. The two pointed out how organized Mr. Frohicky could be, which was enough to convince Lloyd to accept Mr. Frohicky's help.

As Riyu got older, Mr. Frohicky would often get tired from Riyu, Arin and Sora from making a mess because Riyu wasn't a baby anymore. Arin and Sora promised to clean it up but due to their investigation looking out for an unknown thief

Enemies

Thunderfang

Thunderfang is Arin's secondary archenemy. The first time they truly met was during the Battle of the First Land, where Thunderfang absorbed Lloyd's soul. In spite of Arin being angry at Lloyd over their argument of the Merge, he was disgusted by Thunderfang hurting someone he still subconsciously cared for. Arin was ultimately responsible for Thunderfang's first death, by feeding him elixir from the Well of the Lost, ultimately destroying Thunderfang and releasing all the souls he captured, including Lloyd and the Oni he consumed. However Thunderfang was not truly defeated; instead, he was sent to the Spectral Lands, where he was consumed Morro and the Soul Suckers and plotted his ascension as a Source Dragon, by sending scouts and the Forbidden Five across the Merged Realms to harvest souls. However Arin and Lloyd both defeated Thunderfang yet a second time, through the Arc Dragon of Focus by destroying the Well of the Lost. However as a result, summoning the Arc Dragon of Focus inadvertently caused Arin and the Ninja unforeseeable consequences in regards to the fate of elemental powers when half of the source Dragons left the Council of sources, thus putting humans and their powers at risk because of Thunderfang's actions.
