Anya Christina Emmanuella Jenkins is a major protagonist in the WB series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Sure was a member of the Scooby Gang and a former vengeance demon. Over a thousand years old, she was originally known as Aud and lived in Sweden. After cursing her unfaithful lover, Aud was approached by the demon D'Hoffryn with the offer of becoming an immortal demon and dedicating her life to vengeance. She accepted and was transformed into Anyanka, earning the title of Patron Saint of Scorned Women as she spent a millennium granting dark wishes to the girlfriends and wives against men.
However she was turned human when D'Hoffryn stripped of her powers. She became a student at Sunnydale High School and began a romantic relationship with Xander Harris effectively becoming a friend and member of Buffy Summers' s vampire group, the Scooby Gang. However, her relationship with Xander officially ended when he got cold feet on their wedding day.
Even though she temporarily turned into a vengeance demon later, Anya was stripped of her powers again and joined her friends in a battle against the First Evil, which unfortunately resulted in Anya dying during battle at the Hellmouth.
Personality[]
As a vengeance demon Anya always helped women who were woefully scorned, such as granting Cordelia's wish that Buffy Summers never came to Sunnydale because of her permenent breakup with Xander Harris, who Anya ended up dating. However she always had a irrational fear of bunnies.
During her time as a human, Anya was socially awkward and distant, sometimes misunderstanding certain situations and having strange conversations with Xander. For example, the two had an awkward conversation during one of Xander's job as an ice cream truck worked. Xander feeling pressure by what Anya wanted them to be, caused him to angrily shout at her that they should have big sweaty sex in front of their customers and their children, much to his embarrassment. Anya was left in shock. Anya discovered she had a love for money and capitalism, and her budding retail skills encouraged Giles to hire her as a cashier in his occult shop, the Magic Box.

- Anya is afraid of rabbits but loves monkeys. However in her previous life as Aud, Anya bred rabbits.
