Andromeda is a minor antagonist in Seasons 1 and 2 and a minor character in Season 7 of Netflix's The Dragon Prince and a minor character in the graphic novels Through the Moon and The Bloodmoon Huntress.

She was a Moonshadow Elf assassin from the Silvergrove. She, along with five other assassins, Rayla, Runaan, Skor, Ram, and Callisto, were sent on Zubeia's mission to assassinate King Harrow and his son Prince Ezran, a mission that turned deadly after the King was killed.

History

Early life

Andromeda was born in the Silvergrove, a Moonshadow Elf settlement in the depths of Moonshadow Forest, Xadia. As a Moonshadow elf, Andromeda was born with a stable connection to the Moon Primal. She trained alongside Callisto, Skor, and Ram to become skilled assassins under Runaan's tutelage.

Return of the Bloodmoon Huntress

Callisto, Andromeda, Skor, and Ram are training under the tutelage of Runaan before the night of the Harvest Moon. Andromeda tries to activate her Moonshadow Form with no success, allowing Runaan to explain that Moonshadow Forms are difficult but can be mastered once an assassin understands the balance of life and death. However, the training is cut short when an eavesdropping Rayla gives her hiding spot away.

Andromeda then chats with Rayla that Runaan's fighting style expresses how he values life and the weight of taking one. She continues to explain that life must sometimes be taken for the greater good.

The next day, Rayla is allowed to watch Runaan sparring with each of the four elves.

On the night of the Harvest Moon, Callisto, Andromeda, Skor, and Ram are preparing to patrol alongside Runaan when Ethari's Wingaling alerts them that Rayla is in danger.

Revenge

Not long after Viren and King Harrow of Katolis killed the Dragon King, Avizandum, and supposedly destroyed his unhatched egg, the Dragon Queen, Zubeia, tasked the four assassins to kill King Harrow and his son Prince Ezran in retaliation along with Rayla and Runaan.

The four assassins accepted the task and Ethari crafted a metal lotus for each of them that would signify their fates.

The four assassins accompany Runaan and Rayla to the kingdom of Katolis, where they set up camp in the forest and prepare for the mission until it is time for the attack. Each of them binds themselves with an indestructible binding, which is a promise to fulfill their mission of avenging Avizandum and his unhatched egg by killing King Harrow and his son Prince Ezran. However, their presence is exposed due to Rayla's incapability to kill Marcos, a soldier who informed his king of the incoming attack.[1]

Afterward, Skor and Andromeda refuse to acknowledge Rayla inside their campgrounds. They continue to shun Rayla, due to her inability to kill Marcos and leave without her after Runaan decides to leave her behind.[2]

After drawing power from the full moon, all four assassins enter their Moonshadow Forms and scale the castle tower leading to King Harrow's chambers, where they battle the Crownguard. All four of them give their lives during battle, but allow Runaan to slay Harrow with their sacrifice.[3]

Legacy

Arc 1

As a result of the assassins' deaths the metal lotuses they left in the pond sink, notifying Ethari and the other elves that the assassins were killed. However, only Rayla's metal lotus still floats, causing her to become a Castout.[4] A couple of weeks later, Viren (under guidance from Aaravos) summoned the Assassins' spirits and sent them to assassin the other monarchs of the Five Kingdoms as part of his plan to wage war on Xadia.

Their deaths were eventually avenged when Rayla threw herself and Lord Viren off the Storm Spire.

Through the Moon

Andromeda's and the other assassins' spirits were unable to move on to the afterlife until they believed Rayla completed her mission of assassinating Ezran since they didn't see her bindings on her wrists.

Book 7: Dark

Andromeda's spirit was summoned by Lyrennus when Rayla was undergoing her unghosting ritual by seeking the forgiveness of the five elves she had wronged. Though Lyrennus initially held his grudge against Rayla, blaming her for his son Ram's death, he forgave the young Moonshadow elf and lifted her banishment.
