Anamaria is a minor character in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
She is portrayed by Zoe Saldana, who also plays Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers.

She has a score to settle with Jack Sparrow after he steals her boat.
Personality[]
Anamria is a feisty and fierce pirate woman who is also brave and strong-willed. She specifically had a vendetta against Jack for stealing her ship, showing she really doesn't like it when someone steals from her.
Despite her flaws as a pirate, Anamaria is actually a very honorable pirate, as she helped rescue Jack from being executed and giving him the title as Captain of the Black Pearl

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl[]
Anamaria first appears in the film when she signs up to join Jack Sparrow's crew. She slapped Jack for stealing her boat, but hepromises her the Interceptor.
Anamaria helps Sparrow and Will Turner rescue Elizabeth Swann. During the skirmish, Anamaria suggest they hand Elizabeth back to Barbossa but decides against it after learning the PIrates aren't after her but the medallion. The crew ends up captured by Hector Barbossa and the cursed crew but are saved by Elizabeth. However, they leave without helping Sparrow.
Later, Anamaria and the other pirates return to rescue Jack from being executed and gives him captainship of the Black Pearl.
Dead Man's Chest[]
By the time of Dead Man's Chest, Anamaria had left Sparrow's gang.
Trivia[]
- The cast was told that Anamaria would be the returning character from the first film to help them to conceal Barbossa being the true returning character. Therefore, Elizabeth, Will, Mr. Gibbs, Pintel and Ragetti's reactions of being shocked at his return were real.
