Alfred Pennyworth is the deuteragonist of Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy. He is a butler in service of the Wayne family. He had been Bruce Wayne's guardian, confidant, trusted ally, and above all, his best friend.
He was portrayed by retired veteran actor, Michael Caine, who also portrayed Nigel Powers in Austin Powers, Finn McMissile in Cars 2 and Lord Redbrick in Gnomeo & Juliet.
