Alexander "Alex" Vanderhouven is the overarching protagonist of Apple TV series Curses! He is the husband of Sky Vanderhouven and father of the main protagonists, Horus/Russ and Pandora.
Alexander is a middle-aged man with light brown hair, beard and sideburns, bronw eyes, and olive skinned. He appears to wear a white shirt underneath his yellow flannel shirt. The shirt is button and has collar folded over it.

Alexander Vanderhouven was born to Apollo Vanderhouven. He eventually married a young woman named Sky. He had two children, Horus and Pandora. For some reason, Alexander was separated from his family due to an ancient curse by his great- grandfather. For years, Alex has been researching this curse in an attempt to find a way to reverse it, while keeping his family in the dark in order not to worry them. He also kept the fact that their house had a secret wing filled with more cursed artifacts a secret.
He was later turned to stone.
Season 1[]
In "The Scryer Bowl," the family was briefly able to contact Alex using the titular scryer bowl. They learned Alex was currently in a black void, and something else in there was hunting him.
Trivia[]
Like his family members, his name connects to either Greek or Egyptian mythology. He is probably named after Alexander the Great, a king of the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon who also conquered Egypt.
Alex can be considered the overarching hero of the series due to him keeping the secret of the curse from his family as well as Russ and Pandora's desire to see their father again.
