Alden Bitterroot is the main antagonist of The Fairly Oddparents episode "Which Witch is Which?" He is an Evil Witch / warlock who is the alleged ancestor of Denzel Crocker and plotted to take over Dimmsdale when it was an unnamed town in 1665. However, Bitterroot's plans were foiled by Dale Dimm and a time traveling Timmy Turner.
Biography[]
Bitterroot was an evil witch who pretended to be a witch hunter in order to have The unnamed town that would become Dimmsdale, California and gain money and power. However, Bitterroot was eventually defeated by Dale Dimm and thrown down a neverending well. He is misinterpreted as being a buff and muscular man in the 21st century. However, in actuality, Bitterroot was a scrawny, conniving man who was duping the Mayor and entire town into following his witch-hunting schemes.
According to the local legend, if you are in close vicinity with the well where Bitterroot, you can still hear him screaming. In truth, Alden Bitterroot is still falling, as he tries multiple times to climb and escape.

Powers[]
- Magic Blocking: Witches are able to negate other supernatural beings, rendering them powerless. Bitterroot was able to block Cosmo and Wanda's fairy magic when they were trying to help teleport themselves and Timmy and escape Dimmsdale and the angry mob.
- Pyrokinesis: Bitterroot is able to control, manipulate and create fire.
- Fire Vision: Bitterroot was able to generate fire from his eyes when he was stepped on by Dale.
- Fire Balls: Bitterroot created fireballs from his hands when he was chasing after Timmy before he was saved by Dale Dimm.
- Flight: Bitterroot is able to fly, mostly from the use of his broomstick. It is implied this comes from only his broom because Bitterroot didn't even attempt to escape the bottomless well by flying.
- Levitation: A sub power of flying. Bitterroot is able to levitate several inches off the ground. Timmy noticed this when he saw that Bitterroot's feet were not touching the ground, which was what confirmed Timmy's suspicions that Bitterroot was a witch. According to the mayor, they were admittingly perplexed about it but didn't suspect anything about it.
- Impervious to Magic; Being a magical creature, Bitterroot Is impervious to magic
- Immortality: Alden Bitterroot can live centuries because he has spent over four hundred years falling and climbing from the bottomless well. When he emerged, he had grown a beard.

- Manipulation: For years, Bitterroot was able to fool the citizens of Colonial Dimmsdale for years. He managed to get away with his witch hunt by accusing other and forced others to buy his witch hunting equipment.
Weaknesses[]
- Dale's Foot: When Bitterroot was chasing after Timmy, he was suddenly stomped on by Dale Dimm's gigantic foot, who came to his friend's rescue. When Bitterroot attempted to use magic against Dale, he stepped onto Bitterroot and sent him down the well.
- The Well: For centuries, Bitterroot has been falling down the bottomless well. He tries to escape it in the 21st Century, only to be sent back when Mr. Turner tossed out the remains of his sandwhich and knocked Bitterroot back into the Well.
Trivia[]
- Due to his strong resemblance to Denzel Crocker, it is possible that the two are related.
- Unlike Crocker, no one believes him when he boasts about the existence of fairies. However the citizens of colonial Dimmsdale believed most of Bitterroot's claims before he was exposed by Timmy and defeated by Dale Dimm.
