Aang's bloodline (sometimes referred to as Tenzin's family are supporting characters in Avatar: The Last Airbender and it's sequel series The Legend of Korra. It is the family of Avatar Aang and his descendants.

They are related to Sokka and Katara's family. They are also the spiritual relatives of Korra's family, Roku's clan, and the Fire Nation Royal Family.

History[]

While Aang and his family were merely Airbenders, their family expanded to the Water Tribes since Aang and Katara's marriages.

Members[]

  • Aang: Airbending master, Katara's husband, father of Bumi, Tenzin and Kya, grandfather of Jinora, Ikki, Meeloand the Avatar before Korra. Brought an end to the 100 Year War after busting the fire Lord in adult.
  • Katara: Aang's wife and waterbending teacher, a master Waterbender and healer, and the matriarch. She gave birth to three children, Bumi, Tenzin, and Kya II and grandmother to four grandchildren.
  • Bumi: Aang and Katara's eldest son and only non-bending child. He later became a Commander of the Second Division of the United Forces and a great ally to Avatar Korra's incarnation of Team Avatar. Later gained airbending because of the harmonic convergence in 171 AG and became an airbending student. He was named after his father's childhood best friend and the king of Omashu, King Bumi.
  • Tenzin: Aang and Katara's youngest son, Pema's husband, Bumi and Kay's younger brother, and Jinora, Ikki, Meelo and Rohan's father. He is the oldest living airbending master and Avatar Korra's airbending master and father figure
  • Kya II: Aang and Katara's daughter, and secondborn and their only waterbending child; Bumi and Tenzin's sister, Jinora, Ikki, Meelo, and Rohan's aunt, She was named after her maternal grandmother and became a healer in waterbending master in her own right and became an ally for Team Avatar II.
  • Pema: Tezin's wife, Jinora, Ikki, Meelo, and Rohan's mother, Kya and Bumi's Sister-in-law and Aang and Katara's daughter-in-law. She is the Leader of the air acolytes and acts as a maternal figure/ally for Korra and her team
  • Jinora: Tenzin's and Pema's eldest daughter and Aang and Katara's eldest granddaughter. A spiritual advisor and younger sister figure to Avatar Korra and airbending Master who achieved her tattoos at age 11, making her the youngest known Airbending master
  • Ikki: Tenzin and Pema's daughter and the 2nd eldest of 4 children. She has a sisterly relationship with Korra and is an airbending teacher.
  • Meelo: Pema and Tenzin's first son and third child and one of Aang and Katara's grandsons. He was also the brother of Jinora, Ikki and Rohan, the nephew of Kya and Bumi. He is an Airbender in training and like his older sisters, had a close relationship with Avatar Korra.
  • Rohan: the youngest of Pema and Tenzin's children and second son, Jinora, Ikki, and Meelo's brothers and the youngest of Aang and Katara's four grandchildren. He was born during the Equalists' attack on Republic City and he shows signs of being Pema and Tenzin's only non-bending child.

Trivia[]

  • Katara's marriage to Aang was foreshadowed to in "The Fortuneteller" when Aunt Wu said Katara would marry a powerful bender.
  • The identity of Aang's parents are unknown.
  • Not only are they close friends with the Fire Nation's Royal Family due to Aang and Zuko's friendship, they are also spiritually related to each other as well as the families of Korra, Roku, Kyoshi and all the previous Avatars.
  • Intergenerational friendship's:
    • Izumi was close friends with Avatar Aang but her relationship with Aang's violated is unclear other than the fact that Izumi and Tenzin interacted in Book 4 of The Legend of Korra as never of the high council.
    • It is implied that Izumi's son Iroh, served under Bumi or worked closely with him.
    • Tenzin and Lin used to date.
    • Jinora, Ikki, Meelo and Opal are all Airbending peers.
    • Due to Earth Kingdom inhabitants having green eyes, it's possible Pema is an Earth Kingdom citizen or was from one of the Fire Nation colonies located in which would become present-day Republic City.
